Card LensBY AAP COLLECTABLES← Back to Card LensA better photo. A better match.
Start with one card, then try a small batch. Always check the exact printing before comparing prices.
Get ready
Sign in with ChatGPT from Account. Choose English or Japanese and One card or Multiple cards. Allow camera access, or upload a clear photo instead.
Make the details readable
Place the card upright on a plain, contrasting background. Clean the camera lens, use soft daylight and avoid flash. Keep the full name, set code and collector number in focus; the bottom-left text matters more than the sleeve’s outer border.
Sleeves and top loaders
Try scanning in the holder first. Move the light or angle the holder slightly until glare clears the name and number. Keep the camera close to parallel so the card stays rectangular. If it remains unclear, try a closer photo or remove the holder only if you can do so safely.
Give each card its own area
For multiple cards, leave a gap between them. Check or adjust each numbered area so it covers one actual card, including its name and code. Keep other cards and sleeve labels out of that area. Retry only the unclear cards when possible.
Review before you confirm
Compare name, set, collector number, language and artwork with the catalogue image. Select the exact printing and choose Confirm identity. If several printings share artwork, use the printed code to decide. Choose unclear or enter details manually if the image cannot resolve them.
Compare the right prices
Check sold prices for recent reported sales and the average of up to five disclosed matches. Current listings are asking prices, not completed sales. Compare condition, grading, language, variants and postage. A sampled 30-day sales count is an estimate, not the total market.
Keep your collection safe
Cards and photos save in this browser. In Collection, use Check cloud, then Save to cloud or Load cloud records to work across devices. Cloud sync is manual and excludes photos. Export a JSON backup before clearing browser data or moving to a different app address.
How your allowance works
One confirmed card is one scan, so three confirmed cards use three scans. Failed recognition and retries are free. A new sold-price report uses one report allowance; reopening the same cached result within 12 hours uses no extra report. Monthly allowances reset on the first day of the calendar month at 00:00 UTC. Top-up credits are used afterwards and do not expire.

Camera unavailable? Open Card Lens directly in Safari, allow camera permission or use Upload photo. Recognition unclear? Retake the photo with the bottom-left code in focus. Prices unavailable? Retry later and check Account for your report allowance. A catalogue match does not authenticate or grade your card.
